Name of Piece: Mid century modern chest
Century Furniture, circa 1952
This heavy wood chest was being thrown out and I rescued it. The design is inspired by the chinoiserie lacquered cabinet style. Instead of lacquer I used several paints including chalk, acrylic, and blended. The decorations are cut from inked rice paper, design transfers, and hand painted. One drawer and two cabinet doors provide ample storage space.
