Name of Piece: Freestanding Farmhouse Kitchen
Wood and veneer, circa 1910
I designed my kitchen and purchased all the antique pieces. This replaced a traditional kitchen with wall cabinets. I hired a friend to do the installation, labor and woodwork conversion. I painted the pieces in a blue teal called Vintage Affliction by Amy Howard. On the sink cabinet surface I left some areas just lightly sanded to show the interesting pattern made with previous coats of paint.
The cabinets are circa 1910 Amish built. The piece with the mailbox and no glass is the food pantry. The sink base was an oak blanket chest, and shelves on the wall are cut from the chest. The accessories are from everywhere, mostly second hand vintage. Shopping and finding treasures was a super fun part of this design creation.
